Chunky would have turned 10 years old this September.

We were supposed to celebrate that milestone with a big birthday party — surrounded by the people, the Pudgies, and the community he helped bring together.

Instead, we’ll gather to celebrate his life, say the goodbye we never wanted to say, and finally put our boy to rest.

And because it’s Chunky, we’re doing it his way — filled with all of his favourite things.

We’ll meet at Pudgy’s Place and walk together with our balloons to Trinity Bellwoods, where we’ll honour Chunky with a biodegradable balloon release.

From there, we’ll walk over to Pennie’s, where a reservation has been made for our group and we’ll share two of Chunky’s greatest loves: sliders and tater tots.

We chose to celebrate outside and at Pennie’s so People and Pudgies of every size can be part of his final birthday.

Afterward, Chunky will be brought home to Pudgy’s Place and laid to his final rest — in the place he helped build, surrounded by the community he created. A place where those who loved him can always come back and visit him.

This is an open invitation to our entire Pudgy Community. Whether you knew Chunky personally or simply loved him from afar, you are part of his story.

His 10th birthday deserved to be celebrated.

So we’re going to celebrate it for him.
