Corporate Puppy Therapy
Why Companies are Choosing Pudgy Pups for Puppy Therapy
Companies choose Pudgy Pups because our puppy therapy experiences are built on a foundation of ethics, animal welfare, and rescue advocacy. Unlike businesses that source puppies solely for events, Pudgy Pups is a rescue — every puppy at your event is one of our own rescue animals, and every booking directly funds their care. The funds generated through our corporate puppy therapy programs cover veterinary care, vaccinations, nutrition, enrichment, spay and neuter programs, and other essential rescue expenses. Organizations that partner with Pudgy Pups can feel confident knowing their employee wellness event aligns with their corporate values, social responsibility initiatives, and commitment to ethical practices. By choosing Pudgy Pups, companies are not only creating a positive and memorable experience for their teams — they are also making a meaningful impact on the lives of our rescue animals and helping support a more compassionate community.
Questions Companies should be asking Puppy Therapy Providers
-
Generally speaking, most puppy therapy providers are sourcing from breeders or are breeders themselves which is why all of the puppies coming to your office are the same breed, same litter, and same age. Some rent from the breeders for just that day, while others have ongoing relationships with multiple breeders that they rent from more than once. The breeders are paid a fee for the puppies to attend and this is also a way for the breeders to sell their puppies.
Pudgy Pups is a Rescue- the puppies that come to Corporate Puppy Therapy, socials, grand openings, etc. are not “sourced.” Puppies come into our care from owner surrenders, other rescue groups, victim advocacy, breeder dumps, or abandonment.
-
This is a REALLY important question. The answer to this question will tell you everything you need to know about the ethics of the puppy therapy provider. If the puppies are under 10 weeks old they should absolutely not be at a corporate puppy therapy event.
Puppies cannot receive their first set of vaccinations (DHPP: Canine Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Parainfluenza) until they are 8 weeks old. The vaccine then requires an additional 7-10 days to be considered an effective defense for the viruses listed above.
Puppies cannot give you any of these viruses- instead, they can pick up these viruses from almost any environment where there are people. People can accidentally carry Parvovirus on their shoes, clothing, hands, or equipment after being in an area that is contaminated. This virus is very hardy and survives in envirenments for months. The other viruses are not a significant source of transmission, however unfortunately the most deadly of the four (Parvovirus) can be transmitted from people.
This is all to say that unvaccinated young puppies are at risk of becoming ill and potentially dying if being brought into an environment without vaccination. All of our puppies are always over 10 weeks old, have a vet they have seen regularly and are vaccinated.

This is one of the questions we love being asked, because it speaks to what matters most: the puppies’ wellbeing.
The answer is simple - they live with us, in our home, as part of our family.
Pudgy pups is not a kennel, a breeder or a facility. When the Pudgies aren't attending a carefully planned event they're doing exactly what puppies should be doing: playing outside, getting fresh air and sunlight, sleeping, playing with toys, playing with each other and being loved on by us.
Every puppy has scheduled rest days, playtime, rest time, nutritious food, routine vet care and loys of opportunity to simply be a puppy. Their emotional well being and physical well being always comes before any booking. We often say No to bookings if we feel that it is not in the best interest of the puppies.
Every decison we make starts with one question: Is this what's best for the puppies? if the answer isn't yes we don't do it For us puppy therapy begins long before the event. It begins at home, where every puppy is raised with compassion, respect, and the kind of love they go on to share with everyone they meet.
